Lila

Lila is a performance for an urban space, a place exposed to looks.
A dialogue between body and light to reflect upon the theme of love as phisical energy: what we called Desire.

Love is light and sight, who is deprived of it lives in darkness.
A body in the dark, turned down on the ground, finds a possibility of elevation through the experience of desire, that is light and vital pulsation.
Small luminous springs reveal a human attempt to open, to rise towards sublime.

    Silvia Urbani, dancer and choreographer.
    Born in Vicenza (Italy) in 1980, she graduates in Dance History at the University of Literature and Philosophy in Bologna. She studied classical, modern and contemporary dance and since 1999 she has been focusing on research and physical experimentation.
    She deepened her artistic education in The Netherlands, where she ilved from 2004 to 2007, studying at the Rotterdam Dance Academy and with different artists and choreographers, among them Masaki Iwana, Lily Kiara, Michael Jahoda, Amy Raymond, Kevin Cregan, Stephanie Arndt, Regina van Berkel and Gabrielle Staiger.
    Decisive for her development is the meeting in 2006 with Julyen Hamilton, from which has begun an intense process of research and personal practice on presence, poetic movement and instant composition, as tool for creation and deep investigation of the person. She studies and is interested in psychology, philosophy and meditation’s techniques.
    She has worked as freelance dancer in several projects in Italy and abroad.
    Since 2005 she has been realizing her own pieces as author and performer, and dedicating herself to teaching dance and physical theatre in schools for different assiociations.
    In 2007 she founded togheter with Alessio Guerra, Compagnia Urbani-Guerra, with which has won the GD’A ER Prize 2009 and the Prize Monica Mioli as ‘Best Interpreter’ in Loro del Reno 2009 – Teatri di Vita.



    Silvia Urbani, danzatrice e coreografa.
    Nata a Vicenza nel 1980, è laureata in Storia della Danza all’Università di Bologna. Studia danza classica, moderna e contemporanea e dal 1999 rivolge la sua attenzione alla ricerca e sperimentazione corporea.
    Approfondisce il suo percorso artistico in Olanda, dove vive tra il 2004 e il 2007, studiando alla Rotterdam Dance Academy e con diversi coreografi tra cui Masaki Iwana, Lily Kiara, Michael Jahoda, Amy Raymond, Kevin Cregan, Stephanie Arndt, Regina van Berkel e Gabrielle Steiger.
    Decisivo per la sua formazione è l’incontro nel 2006 con Julyen Hamilton, dal quale nasce un intenso percorso di ricerca e pratica personale su presenza fisica, movimento poetico e composizione istantanea, come strumento di creazione e di indagine profonda della persona.
    Lavora come danzatrice freelance in diversi progetti indipendenti in Italia e all’estero.
    Studia e si interessa di psicologia, filosofia e tecniche di meditazione.
    Dal 2005 realizza opere personali come autrice e performer, e collabora con artisti di diverse discipline sperimentando il dialogo e la fusione di linguaggi differenti.
    Nel 2007 fonda con il lighting designer Alessio Guerra, Compagnia Urbani-Guerra con la quale vince il Premio GD’A Emilia Romagna 2009 e il Premio Monica Mioli come ‘Miglior interprete’ a Loro del Reno 2009 – Teatri di Vita, Bologna.
    Negli ultimi anni si è dedicata all’insegnamento della danza e del teatro fisico nelle scuole, collaborando con le associazioni Cantharide e Mus-e.
